Before We Get Started
Windows Vista is defaulted to use the “Live File System” format. This is ok if your not going to use the CD anywhere else as it might not be compatible with other systems. We are going to change from the “Live File System” to the “Mastered” format. This format will make the disc compatiible with just about any CD or DVD player out there.

Lets Get Started
Follow these steps and you will have no trouble. You might want to do a test cd while you go through the directions, so have a blank CD-R available. Also to make it easier make sure all other windows are closed.

Step 1. Insert your blank CD-R media or DVD-R media into your CD/DVD Burner. the following screen will pop up. Click the “Burn Files To Disc”

Step 2. Next this screen will appear. In the “Disc Title” box type in a name for your disc. now click on the down arrow next to “Show Formatting Options”.

Step 3.The following screen will appear. Click the little circle next to “Mastered” and then click on the Next button.

Step 4. an empty disc folder will open. The left side of that window is your computer and the right side is where you will drag the files you want burned to the CD. Also you will notice a little triangle next to your drives ( Like your C: Hard Drive ). You can click the little triange and that will expand to the contents of that drive. Now you can drag over any files or folders you want burned to the CD.

Once you have all your files that you want burned onto the right side of the screen, you will press the “Burn to Disc” button on the toolbar. ( you can see it on the screen below. Its just above where you drag your files to. Its in the long aqua color toolbar.

Step 5.
Once you pressed the “burn to disc” button the following screen will appear. Here you have a chance again to change the name of the disc. Also you can select your burning speed by pressing the little down arrow under the “Recording Speed:”. If you are unsure as to what speed to burn a CD at, it is always safe to select 8X. Now press the Next Button.

Step 6.
you will now see the screen below. Its just getting the disc ready to burn.

Step 7.
Now it will start burning the disc. If all goes well it should finish and you should see the following screen.

Digital Audio CD-R Overview
Digital Audio CD-R disc’s are used on stand alone audio CD recorders. A couple of examples of these units are, Philips 765, Philips 870 and the Pioneer PDR V500. These type of recorders can only accept digital audio CD-R media. Some units specify ” Digital Audio CD-R” or “Music only CD-R”. You can not record a regular CD-R in theses units, However once a digital audio CD-R disc is finalized it can be played in any cd player.

Digital Audio CD-R disc’s can be difficult to locate at times. There are only a few manufactures of the disc’s and most prefer the Prodisc or Maxell brands. They are also available in 3 different surfaces listed below.

1. White Inkjet Digital Audio CD-R
This is the hardest media to find. It has a special surface that allows it to be printed on a CD or DVD inkjet printer.

2. Shiny Silver Digital Audio
These are completely blank on top. These can be labeled with regular CD paper labels.

3. Branded Digital Audo Disc’s
These have silk screening on the top of the disc. Usually a large logo of the manufacturer and some lines to write the content of the disc on.

Business Card CD-R is a hockey ring shaped burnable CD-R. They Hold about 50MB of data and are available in regular shiny silver or white inkjet printable surfaces. We currently carry the Ridata / Ritek brand which can be recorded up to 32X. Each spindle contains 100 disc’s and 100 vinyl sleeve’s.

What are they used for?

Business professionals like to use them as their digital business card. They are widely used as a marketing tool at conventions and trade shows.

How do you print on them?

White Inkjet Business Card CD-R must be printed with a CD-R printer. There are professional line printers available and now Epson and HP both are manufacturing inexpensive CD-R printers.

Regular Shiny Silver Business Card CD-R is best labeled with a paper label. To do this you will need a printer, some business card CD-R labels and most importantly is the label applicator. Find yourself a Business Card CD-R labeling kit. Most will include the applicator, some sample labels and software to design the labels. Labels are available in a matte finish as well as high gloss.

The Bottom Line
If one of your goals is to achieve a professional looking disc, then this media is what your looking for ! The print quality is like no other. Once printed the disc is very smooth and glossy, it almost looks like its still wet. Also this disc has a dry time of ZERO. When its done printing its dry. Now they call it watershield because of its water resistance. Unlike other inkjet printable disc’s these will not smudge or smear when handled with wet or sweaty fingers. I must say that besides them being the best looking disc, they are manufactured by Taiyo Yuden. They are compatible with just about any player on the market. Finally we have received our shipment of quad jewel cases. They are now in stock and ready for immediate shipping. Each case can hold up to 4 CD’s or DVD’s. Because you can remove the outside trays you can also attach jewel case inserts on both sides of the case. These are a clear case with two black CD holder snap-in trays that come pre-assembled. The clear face comes with a hinged center that is black in color. The frame is well designed and built to last as it is casted from heavy weight hard plastic

** NOTE ** Some customers have been asking is there a place for a booklet with these cases? With the Quad jewel cases and the 6 CD cases there are no “tabs” for a booklet, however being these are a chubby case there is room inside the case to place a booklet. Keep in mind you can use a jewel case tray card for the outsides of the case to display your artwork / titles.

Im always being asked ” Will the Mini CD-R on your site work in my camera? ” The answer is Yes! these will work in camera’s that take mini cd-r media. Some camera’s will only work with mini CD-RW, in that case then they would not work.

Why is it so confusing?
There are several different cameras out there that use mini cd-r. Some spec for a 156MB disc, another for a 138MB disc. ( and there are others ) Then you go and finally find some blank mini cd-r and they say they are 193MB to 210MB. Now What? Well basicly the MB that the camera manufacturer gives you is the total space that is actually used for your video and pictures. Before the camera can work it writes a “lead in” to the disc and when you are done with it, it writes a “lead out” or as some call it “to finalize the disc. This is why the number never match. So go ahead and save yourself some of your hard earned money and purchase the different brands of mini cd-r that are out on the market.

What do I use to burn a mini cd-r?
you can burn a mini cd-r in any cd burner that is tray fed. ( an actual tray comes out of the burner that you lay your disc in )
you can NOT record a mini cdr in a slot fed burner.

Types Of Mini CD-R
There are 5 mini CD-R surfaces available. First one is the regular shiny silver. This one can be thermal printed or you can put paper labels on them. Second and Third types are inkjet printable. The inkjet printable are available in white and silver. Fourth would be a white thermal mini CD-R. Its surface is specially designed for thermal ribbon printers. And fifth would be the retail / branded media. These typically have been silk screen printed with the manufacturers logo and usually would have some lines for you to write text.
