garageband 08 running on MSI Wind netbook. Atom N270 @1.6Ghz 2Gb Ram 80Gb WD Scorpio HDD Leopard 10.5.4 Software instruments work well. You can record one with up to 6 tracks running at the same time. I figured out garageband on such hardware is a modern 4-tracks audio recorder. Back to the roots ! It could be even better if Apple optimized OS X and ilife for an Apple netbook… In the end, garageband was recording grand piano ( software instrument ) with 6 other tracks — Aurora Bell + Big electric Lead Guitar as software instruments, 4 more tracks made of Apple Loops provided with the application. That’s not bad at all !
Could you please tell me how to do this? I love Garageband..but I want it on my Laptop ( Acer) or on my PC

@illertop10: if OS X runs on the acer aspire one, Garange Band will run too.
@all : Garage Band is one of the trickiest app. It can’t run with a resolution < 1024*768. The resize script doesn’t work so you’ll have to go with GarageBand ‘08 and use the “Cmd + L ” shortcut to access the control panel (actually, it opens loops which are situated on bottom of GB’s interface. This won’t work with the latest version of GB since Apple put in on the right of the interface)

I’m thinking of getting a netbook to run Cubase on for portable recording/editing/mixing work.
Did you install GarageBand from iLife 08 or GarangeBand from iLife 09 ?
I personally use the oldest version since the GB ‘09 is quite impossible to use as they modified the interface.
GB 08 is much more usable if you know the CMD-L tip.
Hi! I have installed garage band on a osx 10.5.6 in a msi wind notebook U100. I have problem with the resolution.. I dont take all monitor.. Do u use some program??
