Make a MSI 100 Into A Portable Mac

Did you know that you can covert the MSI U100 into a portable that runs the Mac OSX?
Take a look around on google and look for “MSI U100 Hackintosh” or “MSI U100 OSX86”. There are several very informal guides on how to install this OS. You will have to search around for a couple of drivers and you will need a copy of OSX Leopard.

I have personally seen and used the white MSI Wind U100 model with Mac OSX 10.5.4 installed and it looks and functions amazingly !!

If you are a Mac person or just thinking of getting a Mac, here is an excellent alternative for around 400 bucks. Now I would recommend installing and upgrading the ram as well at the battery. There are currently some 9-cell batteries available that will give you 6 hours of run time using the Mac OS.

A buddy of mine has the white wind u100 so we decided to try and install the Mac OS on it.  After doing a little research and checking out some forums and videos we installed it without a hitch.  Let me say this thing ran great.  I was really surprised how smooth and fast the mac os ran on it.  We then installed Office 08 for mac and again ran as good as my desktop.

Final thoughts.  If your looking for a inexpensive mac book this is definately the way to so.  The install took about 25 min and was very self explanatory.

Got yourself one of those new Netbooks?  Now you need a way to install your applications and software?  You might want to think about picking up a USB CD drive.  I would concider getting a USB burner as you will get a little more bang for your buck.  You might as well be able to burn a CD or DVD.  Take alook at the USB drives I found on the Amazon Store.
